Airmid Natural Handmade Skincare
A great deal of care goes into creating our products. And where we can, we shop local for our ingredients. Our raw honey and beeswax come from right here in the Burren; we clean it in our workshop to maintain purity. Being right on the Atlantic, our seaweed comes from Atlantic Irish Seaweed, Caherdaniel, Co. Kerry.
Even the coffee you’ll find in our soaps is roasted just a few miles away by Anam Coffee. Where we have to shop further afield, ethical sourcing is important to us – we use organic Shea butter from Ghana where it is processed by local women, who are paid a fair price for their work. Our ingredients are sustainable sourced: Fair Trade/ Soil Association Certified / Cosmos Certified.
At Airmid, we only use the traditional cold process soap-making method. That means we keep all the goodness of the ingredients in the final product. All our bars are cut by hand and are cured for at least 6 weeks to ensure a luxury, long-lasting product. Finally, we personally check every item before it’s boxed up in our eco-friendly packaging which is sustainable, printed in Ireland and from FSC Certified stock. Our biodegradable soap boxes are designed so that you can both see and smell our natural soaps, without the need to open them up.
You’ll find us beavering away in our workshop, situated in the breathtaking Burren, along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Opened 2020, our extended premises – designed to have a low environmental impact – gives us the capability to meet the growing demand for our products from here in Ireland, and around the world. All our packaging is designed in-house by Tina Robinson Design (www.tinarobinson.ie) and the beautiful Burren photos on this site are by Anja Kolic Photography. (www.anjakolic.com)
